01 July 2006—Summer Solstice.

Dj'd a fun set at the Lester House Summer Solstice booty shake. Beautiful crowd of party people gettin' down and keeping the vibe lovely. There were a few older folks on the floor, schooling us all, showing how they did it back in the day when they kept it "realer". I played a mixed up set of 90's hip-hop and soul with an uptempo progression towards 80's old school, R&B/soul and some 70's flashback for good measure.

The highlight of the evening was when Dj Morenito switched the party into high gear, with his non-stop barrage of wicked samba beats and skillful mic work. I don't think hell was a hotter place, seriously. He must have been channeling spirits to posses us 'cause we were some dancing fools sweating all over each other. The party ended around three a.m. not because there was a shortage of people on the floor, but because the system blew out. Another night to add to the lore of the Lester House.
